Oxford Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma: Sleep and Memory in Post-traumatic Stress Disorder research study

People who have experienced a traumatic event may experience problems sleeping and changes in the way they remember things. A study at the University of Oxford aims to better understand the nature of sleep and memory disturbances in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, and how they change with treatment.

The study involves a 2-hour research session where participants do some computer tasks and fill in questionnaires, and a week of sleep monitoring (completing a daily sleep diary and wearing a small wristband which monitors sleep). After about 3 months, there will be a second research session and second week of sleep monitoring. This study will be conducted at the Oxford Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma (OxCADAT) and has been granted ethical approval by the Oxford South Central C Research Ethics Committee under the reference number 14/SC/0198. Participants will be reimbursed for their time and travel expenses.

If you have a patient who has experienced a traumatic event and the individual is interested in helping with the study, please contact:
